Welcome to the Irish Mindfulness Academy

The Irish Mindfulness Academy was founded by Carmel Farnan, BSc (Hons) Psychology, Psychotherapist and Mindfulness Trainer who has designed and presented Mindfulness Training Courses internationally since 1999. Prior to founding the Irish Mindfulness Academy and the British Mindfulness Academy, Carmel co-founded national Mindfulness organisations in Ireland, Britain, United Arab Emirates and Canada.

All courses at the Irish Mindfulness Academy are evidence based, drawing upon the latest scientific research from the fields of Mindfulness and Neuroscience. Our Mindfulness courses are unique as they combine elements from Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Coginitive Therapy (MBCT) with evidence-based tools from Positive Psychology. Contemporary research indicates that this combination obtains superior results and longer-lasting benefits for course attendees.

Carmel Farnan is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. Each course at The Irish Mindfulness Academy is designed and delivered to the highest ethical standards and adheres to the UK Mindfulness Teachers Good Practice Guidance for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses, (2010).
